Application

All students living in residence halls are eligible for the program.
The application consists of a statement of interest in a specific project area (pdf or word document) emailed to berkeleyharp@gmail.com due by March 7th. Groups or individuals can apply. We will be holding interest / project brainstorming workshops (see timeline) to assist you. The application should be approximately 1-2 pages (double-spaced) and consist of :

  1. Names, majors, school year of student/students
  2. A statement of interest in a general research area (whether on campus or your own project). This is for us to get a general idea of what participants want.

  3. Optional: if you have a specific idea you are free to submit the items below. Note: we can design a project for you afterward so don't worry if you don't finish this in time you can still participate (but projects will more likely be funded if you can submit this earlier)

  4. A specific research question and purpose. (175-200 words)
  5. The background on the research topic summarizing what is already known about this topic and how the research work you will be doing intends to build upon this knowledge (1 page)
  6. The project plan for your research including a discussion of the research methods you will employ and a detailed timeline for your plan of action. Your timeline must show us that you are planning to carry out a minimum of 8 weeks of research.
